Business understanding. Creative instinct. Systems that connect them.
Mohamad Fardous is a Detroit-based entrepreneur and creative director, and the founder of House of Karma, a creative agency with a healthcare marketing and systems division. He also founded Studio Escrow and Karma by Design.
He studied Business & Marketing at the University of Michigan and brings more than a decade of finance and sales experience, including serving as Director of Banking at Rocket Mortgage, where he coached and developed sales professionals.
As founder of Karma by Design, he also explores art, storytelling, composition, and brand identity. At House of Karma, those business and creative disciplines inform the strategy behind each major engagement.
Listening, trust, communication, and problem-solving are the foundations of Mohamad’s approach. For healthcare organizations, we apply that perspective to clear positioning, useful patient education, thoughtful digital experiences, and connected operations.
01 / Strategy & identity
Give patients a clear reason to choose you.
Business strategy and customer psychology inform healthcare positioning. Creative direction turns that positioning into a consistent visual identity, brand voice, and trustworthy service story.
Lessons from Karma by Design—composition, emotion, visual hierarchy, and storytelling—carry into patient-first websites, photography, video, and educational content.
A strategy-first approach connects SEO, AI search readiness, paid campaigns, and service-page content to real patient questions—not vanity metrics or promises of assured rankings.
HOK’s Studio Escrow partnership connects CRM, automation, and follow-up to the patient journey. Custom EMR, portal, and telehealth projects are scoped around actual workflows, vendor capabilities, and data-handling requirements.
Mohamad’s background is in business, finance, leadership, and creative strategy—not clinical practice. Medical content and regulated claims require qualified review; handling PHI requires appropriate agreements, configuration, and operational safeguards.
Creativity. Community. Continuous learning.
Growth means more when it is shared.
The creative side
Through Karma by Design, Mohamad explores the relationship between art, emotion, and commerce. That creative perspective strengthens HOK’s branding, websites, and storytelling.
Beyond business
Creator Connect, Breaking Borders, networking events, public art, creative collaborations, and charitable initiatives reflect a belief in building relationships before transactions.
Always learning
Ongoing education in communication, marketing, AI, and technology informs the work. Mohamad’s published profile also describes speaking, mentoring, and student feedback engagements with the University of Michigan, Parsons, SAIC, and Syracuse.
